This week we had a very special visit from our friends at Charter Senior Living! Their monthly visits are always a highlight for our students, and this time they brought a little extra St. Patrick’s Day magic with them.
Our visitors gathered with the children for story time and shared the fun and imaginative book How to Catch a Leprechaun. The children listened closely as they followed along with the silly traps and clever ideas in the story. There were lots of giggles as everyone imagined what it would be like if a sneaky leprechaun visited our classroom!
Inspired by the story, the children put their creativity to work by building their very own leprechaun traps for this month’s Family Buzz activity. Using a variety of craft materials, they designed traps they hoped would be clever enough to catch a leprechaun. From sparkly decorations to tricky entrances, each trap was completely unique! Families were invited to help their child create a leprechaun trap at home and bring it in for judging. The most creative trap will win our March basket, making the challenge even more exciting for everyone involved.
Activities like this help encourage creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Even more special was sharing the experience with our friends from Charter Senior Living. These intergenerational moments bring so much joy to our classroom and help create meaningful connections for both the children and our visitors.
We are so thankful for our wonderful friends at Charter Senior Living and look forward to their visits each month. Who knows—maybe one of our traps will catch a leprechaun before St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀
